Vermeer Corporation Hosts Community Vaccination Clinic and Vaccinates 800 People in First Day
Vermeer Corporation, an equipment manufacturer headquartered in Iowa, has dedicated their efforts, their facility, and their people to stand up a community vaccination clinic. Over the past few months, Vermeer worked with Premise Health and their local health department to secure the necessary safety gear, set up a vaccination process, and applied to be a point of dispensing (POD). PODs are community locations in which state and local agencies dispense vaccines to the public during a public health emergency.
Vermeer has long been committed to the health of their team members, partnering with Premise to offer an onsite wellness center and pharmacy for employees and dependents. Today, they’re continuing on that mission to care for team members, their families, and the community.
David Corbin, Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety and CIO at Vermeer, said “our shared objective is to offer vaccines to our community members.” Last Friday, 10 nurses and 60 volunteers vaccinated 800 people at the Vermeer pavilion and as eligibility and supply increases, Vermeer hopes to vaccinate as many as 1600 people per day.
