United Airlines and Premise Health Collaborate to Offer Free COVID-19 Testing Pilot Program
United Airlines announced it will offer free rapid COVID-19 tests to all passengers over two years old and crew members on select flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to London Heathrow. The airline is collaborating with partner Premise Health on the pilot program, whose providers will be administering the tests. Passengers who do not wish to be tested during the pilot phase from November 16 to December 11 will be placed on another flight to guarantee every passenger on board has tested negative.
“We believe the ability to provide fast, same-day COVID-19 testing will play a vital role in safely reopening travel around the world and navigating quarantines and travel restrictions, particularly to key international destinations like London,” said Toby Enqvist, chief customer officer for United.
Tests will be given to passengers on United Flight 14, which departs at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Appointments are required to receive a test, which will be administered by Premise at an onsite testing facility located in the Newark United Club.
