Premise Health’s Lara Spalding Receives AAOHN 2025 Fellowship Award for Occupational Health Leadership
“I am honored to join this esteemed group of nursing leaders in occupational health,” said Spalding. “It’s humbling to receive this award from the AAOHN, but I couldn’t have achieved all that I have without the unwavering support of my mentors, Catherine Pepler, Cheryl Strunk, Maria Romano, and Meghan McManama.”
“I’m proud to work with some pretty incredible occupational health and primary care nurse leaders at Premise; we share a mission to deliver onsite healthcare that protects the health and safety of our members while providing an excellent experience for our clients and for each other.”
AAOHN Fellows are recognized for their demonstrated leadership and significant contributions to clinical practice, professional development, research, management, and policy within the field of occupational and environmental health. Fellows provide vision through their exemplary actions to advance the skills, knowledge, and ability of nurses, influence the formation of policy, contribute to research, and maintain highly effective management and clinical practices.
“Occupational health is dynamic by nature,” said Premise’s Chief Medical Officer Jon Leizman. “With Lara offering guidance, we have the utmost confidence in our approach to occupational health. She’s a seasoned leader devoted to our members’ care which involves immense attention to detail with highly customizable programs and necessary adherence to our model of whole-person care. We’re proud of her achievement which is, undeniably, well deserved.”
The award was presented during this year’s AAOHN National Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which took place from March 31 – April 2. The event brought together occupational health nurses and providers across various industries, backgrounds, and experiences for three days of networking, education, and policy discussions.
Spalding joins four Premise providers in receiving the fellowship, including: Frances Childre, MSN, RN, COHN-S, FAAOHN; Donna C. Ferreira, MS, ANP, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN; Daurice L. Holly, RN, COHN, CCM, FAAOHN; and Cheryl Strunk, RN COHN/CM, FAAOHN.
