Premise Health Names New Chief Operating Officer

Direct health care company Premise Health has appointed Beth Ratliff as its chief operating officer. In this role, she will work to drive strategic initiatives, bolster operational support to the growing number of Premise wellness centers, and ensure Premise continues delivering high-quality care to its clients, members, and their families.

Ratliff will succeed Trent Riley, a nearly 30-year veteran of the industry who is leaving to focus on personal interests. Riley was part of the executive team that helped form Premise, and he has served as chief operating officer since 2014, playing a critical role in the company’s growth and vision. Riley will remain an advisor to the company for the next several months. Ratliff assumes the COO role effective immediately.

Ratliff, a physical therapist, has been with Premise and its predecessor companies for more than 18 years, serving in a variety of roles, including senior vice president of operations, senior vice president of product strategy, and the lead of the Office of Integration after Premise was formed. She previously served as president of one of Premise’s predecessor organizations, CHS Health Services, where she led the organization through rapid organic growth and organizational restructuring and expansion.

Ratliff started her career in direct health care working at Toyota, where she learned how the application of lean process and Toyota Production Systems could significantly improve health care efficiency and outcomes. She applied these principles to grow and scale Premise’s health care delivery and innovations, while simultaneously improving quality and service levels.

Ratliff is a Nashville Health Care Council Fellow and a member of the Fellows Alumni Advisory Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Therapy from University of Louisville and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
