Premise Health Announces Derek Brochu as Chief Strategy and Development Officer

Premise Health CEO Stu Clark announced the promotion of Derek Brochu to chief strategy and development officer (CSO). The promotion comes after Brochu joined Premise in April of last year as the executive vice president of growth and development. Clark cited Brochu as an integral leader within the organization, supporting cross-functional collaboration, strategic alignment, and growth enablement.

“Derek has been a trusted partner and advisor to Premise for the better half of a decade,” Clark said. “After officially joining the organization this past year, he has only reaffirmed our trust in his dedication to developing and executing on Premise’s goals for growth and innovation. We have absolute confidence in Derek and his team to continue providing expert insight into healthcare at large, innovations in value-based care, and promising opportunities for strategic partnerships.”

Brochu first worked with Premise in 2018 as a director at OMERS Private Equity. He played a strategic role in OMERS’ acquisition of Premise that year and remained a key advisor for the remainder of his tenure with the firm. In total, Brochu spent eight years with OMERS and was responsible for the origination, execution, and management of its North American investments.

“Premise’s mission and opportunity to change healthcare for the better has always deeply resonated with me, so my transition into a leadership role here felt like a natural one,” Brochu said. “From day one, my intention has been to keep our values at the forefront of the work that we do, and it’s exciting to be a company where innovation helps all key stakeholders.”

Brochu will continue to oversee enterprise initiatives for the future growth and development of Premise in his new role. He and his team are responsible for key enterprise functions informing its approach to strategy, products, customer advisory, partnerships, and corporate development.

Brochu studied business administration at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, and played professional hockey before transitioning into investment banking, where he specialized in technology, media, and telecommunications.
