Don’t Throw Out Your Company’s Employee Wellness Program – Enhance it with What Matters Most
In fact, more than half of respondents whose employers offer onsite or nearsite health centers say their company’s overall health and wellness initiatives meet their needs – compared to only 25% of those with no access to onsite or nearsite care.
“Onsite services and activities have a halo effect by generating positive perceptions and engagement around other aspects of an employer’s health and well-being program, even for those not directly affected or even using those services or activities,” said Steve Nyce, a senior economist at Willis Towers Watson. “This is a critical component for employers that want to build a healthy workplace culture.”
Companies and employees alike are prioritizing health – and with good reason. Poor health has been shown to cause decreased engagement and increased absenteeism. So employee wellness programs continue to have value. They just need to offer the right things. A robust program that incorporates today’s technology with the convenient, personalized care of an onsite or nearsite facility can help bridge the gap between employee expectation and reality.
