Business Insider identified next employer to offer COVID-19 at-home testing benefit

The insurance company TIAA is providing free at-home COVID-19 testing kits to its 14,000 employees through its healthcare partner Premise Health. TIAA was able to successfully roll out kits in a five-week time frame while working with Premise to manage the logistics of acquiring tests, handling shipments, and sorting out payment.

Premise is well versed in COVID-19 screening and testing – it has conducted 4 million screenings and 100,000 tests since the pandemic began. Through its experiences, the company has found it’s critical for employers to evaluate the needs of their specific populations before implementing a testing strategy.

“Premise works with each organization to choose the best approach for its circumstances, and it’s a consultative approach based on what the organization and the population need,” said Premise president Jami Doucette. “The right solution for a financial firm, for example, may not be the right solution for a manufacturing plant or theme park.”

TIAA found working with a strategic partner helped develop its plan more quickly, allowing its associates to have quick, convenient access to a test from the comfort of their own home and results in two to three days.
