A Letter to All Team Members: United Against Injustice

The following letter from Premise Health CEO, Stu Clark, was sent to all Premise team members on Monday, June 1. Premise stands with black communities and our team members, and against injustice and inequality in all of their forms.

June 1, 2020

Team members,

Racism should have no place in our world today. Yet sadly it continues to exist, causing heartbreak, pain, and discord across our country.

I recognize many of us are feeling that pain today, and I want to reach out to share that Premise is with you. At Premise, we have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind, and we are committed to addressing injustice and inequality in all their forms. Many of you have heard me state that there is strength in diversity, and you should know that is a foundational belief of mine.

We are incredibly proud to have team members from all backgrounds – different ethnicities, races, genders, orientations, ages, religions, and more – who care for members and their families in communities across 44 states and Guam. As a healthcare organization, the diversity of culture, experience, and perspective that you bring to our wellness centers and our corporate environment makes us stronger. Premise will continue to seek ways to approach one another with respect and to foster communities that are supportive and inclusive.

Please know that team member safety continues to be our top priority. Several of our wellness centers are closed today because of the protests taking place in urban areas nationally. While we remain committed to members and their families, we will always make the tough decision to temporarily close centers for the protection of our teams.

More information will be communicated as appropriate, and please be sure to stay safe in this time of unrest and uncertainty. We are here for you, and we support you.

Sincerely,
Stu
