#PremiseCares: Providers collaborate to assist high-risk members through COVID-19
Throughout COVID-19, providers at our Premise Health wellness centers have been challenged with finding new and innovative ways to connect with members and provide high-quality care. Early in the pandemic, one provider was introduced to a married couple who were both high-risk and had symptoms concerning for COVID-19. One of our medical assistants, April Nennich, reached out to Michele Sherill, a nurse practitioner at another Premise wellness center, to consult on the care of this couple. Thanks to Premise’s online patient portal and virtual capabilities, the couple was able to see Michele from the safety of their home and determine that they needed to get tested.
At the time, COVID-19 tests were difficult to find and limited in quantity. April and Michele consulted on community resources and were able to secure and arrange testing for the couple the following day. While they waited for their results, our providers stayed in close contact and monitored their symptoms through virtual visits. Ultimately, the couple tested negative and Michele and April were able to help them navigate the return-to-work process. Thanks to our provider team and our care navigation program, we were able to offer comprehensive, high-quality care to members in need. Way to go team!
